Well, like I wrote in my post about solar flares and stuff, now it looks like The Sun is waking up and solar activity is increasing, this could continue beyond the year 2012. The activity peaks in the year 2012, probably. Should we be worried? Can those flares cause problems here on Earth? I would say that, no need for major consern. Sun has done the same thing for millions of years, but these CME's could, if aimed directly to Earth, cause damage to our satellites and space probes and these charged particles hitting the Earth's magnetosphere should cause spectacular Northern Lights. Also, if a super strong flare should hit us, it could cause some problems in the power grid, large area blackouts is a real possibility.
